Dr. Banoth Madhu

Dr. Banoth Madhu, M.Sc. (Ag.), Ph.D. (Genetics and Plant Breeding), is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Genetics and Plant Breeding, School of Agriculture, SR University, Warangal, Telangana. He completed his Ph.D. at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore, with research focused on cotton yield, fibre quality, and resistance breeding for high-density systems, and his M.Sc. at PJTSAU, Hyderabad, on maize resistance breeding and heterotic grouping.

He previously worked as Assistant Breeder (Corn) at Shriram Bioseed Genetics, Hyderabad, contributing to hybrid development, doubled haploid programs, DUS testing, and multi-location trials. He has published 15 research articles, 4 review papers, authored 10 book chapters, and edited one book, and is a recipient of ICAR-JRF (PG & Ph.D.) and CSIR-UGC NET (2023).

His expertise includes quantitative genetics, heterosis breeding, genetic diversity and stability analysis, and application of advanced statistical tools in crop improvement.
