
Dr. Laxmi Narayan Kushwaha (3 January 1931 – 28 July 1999) was a distinguished Hindi poet, scholar, and educator whose literary contributions enriched modern Hindi literature. He held Master's degrees in both Hindi and English, along with a Ph.D., and devoted his life to the promotion of literature, education, and national values.
A versatile writer, Dr. Kushwaha authored numerous acclaimed works spanning epic poetry, narrative poetry, patriotic verse, ghazals, satire, and children's literature. His celebrated epic Tatya Tope received recognition and an award from the Government of Uttar Pradesh. His literary works reflect patriotism, courage, social consciousness, human values, and deep emotional sensitivity.
His published works include Tatya Tope, Veerangana Karm Devi, Mahan Krantikari Shaheed Udham Singh, Bedi Ke Deep, Denge Khoon Na Denge Maati, Sar Kate Magar Sar Jhuke Nahin, Seenkchon Ke Peechhe Ki Aawaz (poems written during his imprisonment in Nainital Jail in 1975), Dard Ki Kanwar, Swatantrya Veer Vinayak Damodar Savarkar Shatak, Pachaas Saal Ho Gaye, Almora Ki Bal Mithai, and Bihar Kesari Babu Kunwar Singh.
In addition to his published works, Dr. Kushwaha left behind several unpublished manuscripts, including Swatantra Veer Savarkar (an epic in diverse poetic metres), Krantikari Madan Lal Dhingra, Naunihal, another collection of ghazals, and two collections of patriotic songs.
