How does the Cost Calculator work?

The Cost Calculator is designed to provide a quick and transparent estimate of your author copy printing cost. You simply enter the total number of pages in your book, select the desired book size, and then click on “Calculate Cost.” The system immediately displays the estimated price of author copies across various quantity slabs, showing how the per-copy rate changes depending on how many copies you wish to print. This helps authors plan printing budgets more accurately and choose the most economical order size.

What is Minimum Retail Price?

Minimum Selling Price is the least possible cost of the book that is decided according to the Distribution Charges, Branded packaging cost of the ecommerce store, Taxes, Selling fees of the ecommerce store and Printing Cost of the book. You may set the price of book as any price higher than Suggest Selling Price. As soon as you type an MRP, you get to see how much you will earn via each of our sales channels. Kindly note that if the number of pages in your book is less than 100, then the minimum selling price of your book must be ₹ 260 for distribution on Amazon and Flipkart. Otherwise we are unable to make your book available on Amazon or Flipkart.

How I can get author copies?

Author just need to pay the Additional Copies Cost and shipping charges. After payment is received for additional copies, We will print and deliver additional copies to the address provided by author. Minimum number of additional copies per order must be 10, otherwise additional copies will not be available at Additional Copies Cost. Printing and shipment process takes a time of 15-25 Days.

Do I have the right to sell my author copies on my own?

Yes, you are completely free to sell your author copies wherever and however you prefer. You may sell them through bookstores, events, fairs, social media, or any third-party platform of your choice. According to the Self-Publishing Service Agreement, Prachi Publishing retains only the rights necessary to publish and sell the book through its own channels, while all remaining rights—including how you distribute, price, or market the copies you purchase—remain entirely with the author.

Do I earn royalty when I purchase my own author copies?

No, authors do not earn royalty on subsidized author copies. These copies are offered at a specially discounted price for personal use, promotions, events, or for the author’s own resale. Because the cost of author copies is already subsidized for the author, royalty is not applicable on these copies—regardless of where or how the author chooses to sell them. Royalty is paid only on copies sold at the regular retail price through the direct publisher or through official sales channels.
