To begin your publishing process, first ensure that your manuscript is fully prepared with proper formatting, proofreading, and final editing. Your interior file (PDF) and cover file (PDF) must be print-ready, as these final versions will be used directly for production. If needed, you may use DIY formatting or design tools available on various online platforms to refine your files before submission so that they meet standard publishing requirements.

Once your files are ready, simply upload them through our secure Google Form. After submission, our team will review the files for technical print compatibility and initiate the publishing workflow. If your files meet our publishing standards, you will be informed about the next steps and guided through the remaining stages of the process.

Free publishing means exactly what it says, publishing your book without charging you any fees for the core services. Our mission is to support aspiring writers by removing the financial barrier to becoming a published author. If you already have a typeset interior file and a ready-to-use cover design, we can publish your book at zero cost.

We understand that many talented writers have completed manuscripts but struggle to get published due to high costs or lack of guidance. This initiative is our way of empowering new authors and helping them share their stories with the world without worrying about expensive publishing packages or hidden fees.

No, there is absolutely no annual, renewal, or recurring fee for our free self-publishing services, including all premium plans. We understand that some publishers charge yearly renewal fees, but we do not follow that practice.

There are also no hidden charges. Once your book is published, you will not be asked to pay any yearly maintenance or renewal costs, and all services will remain active for life without any recurring fees.

All rights to the author’s book will remain with the author. Samant Publishing exists to market the author’s book through distributor partners, we work as a publisher between the author and the reader. We work with a non-exclusive self-publishing publishing agreement, which means that Samant Publishing does not own any of your content and you may publish it elsewhere if you wish.

Once the publishing process begins, our team carries out all essential steps such as file review, approval, ISBN assignment, and listing setup. This entire workflow typically takes 15 to 30 working days, after which your book is published and becomes available on leading eCommerce platforms.

Under the free self-publishing service, the author is responsible for designing the book cover and interior layout themselves using free tools like Canva or any other available options, as this is a complete Do-It-Yourself (DIY) process.

Our standard print size is 5.5 x 8.5 inches, 6 x 9 inches and 8.5 x 11 inches. Authors must submit a print-ready interior file in PDF format, properly typeset and formatted for print, including correct margins, font size, and page layout. Download the Manuscript Formatting Template (DOCX)

For the cover, please provide a single, continuous image that includes the front, back, and spine. Do not include the barcode or MRP — leave that area blank, as we will add the ISBN and price during the publishing process. Spine text will only appear on books with more than 80 pages. We follow a demand-driven Print-On-Demand (POD) model, where copies of your book are printed only when an order is placed. This ensures your book is always available without the risk of overstocking or going out of stock. Samant Publishing also works with multiple printing partners across the world to ensure timely printing and delivery to readers.

The Author shall receive fifty percent (50%) of the net profit as royalty for all domestic distribution, and thirty percent (30%) of the net profit as royalty for all global distribution, applicable on each book sold. The Net Profit (Royalty) is calculated after deduction of production cost and distribution cost (eCommerce Commission) charges by individual distribution channel or sales partners and taxes. The Net Profit (Royalty) is calculated as: Net Profit (Royalty) = MRP – Distribution Cost – Production Cost – eCommerce Commission and Taxes.

Minimum Selling Price (MSP) is the lowest possible price at which your book can be sold. It is determined by distribution charges, branded packaging costs of the e-commerce platforms, applicable taxes, platform selling fees, and the printing cost of the book.

You are free to set the book’s price at any amount higher than the Suggested Minimum Selling Price (MSP). Once you enter the MRP, you will be able to see the earnings you will receive through each of our sales channels.

Note: If your book has fewer than 100 pages, the Minimum Selling Price must be ₹260 for domestic distribution and $13 for global distribution. Without meeting this requirement, we will be unable to list your book on domestic or global eCommerce platforms.

The Publisher will provide the Author with quarterly sales statements for domestic sales and semi-annual sales statements for global sales, which will include details of net copies sold, net revenue generated, and any pending royalty payments. Monthly sales updates will be available to the Author on the Author Dashboard.

The deadlines for domestic quarterly statements are: January–March (within 60 working days after March), April–June (within 60 working days after June), July–September (within 60 working days after September), and October–December (within 60 working days after December).

For global sales, the semi-annual statements will be provided within 60 working days after the end of each respective period: January–June and July–December.

The Publisher will pay the Author’s royalty earnings on a quarterly basis for domestic sales and on a semi-annual basis for global sales. All royalty payments will be made via NEFT or IMPS directly to the Author’s bank account in Indian Rupees (INR). Payments will be released within ninety (90) working days after the end of each respective period.

For domestic sales, royalty payments for January–March will be made within 90 working days after March, for April–June within 90 working days after June, for July–September within 90 working days after September, and for October–December within 90 working days after December. For global sales, royalty payments for January–June will be made within 90 working days after June, and payments for July–December will be made within 90 working days after December.

Once the author approves the book for publishing, it is processed for listing on domestic eCommerce platforms such as Amazon and the Samant Publishing Online Store. The book generally becomes available within 15 to 90 working days, while the initial listing typically appears within 10 to 15 working days.

For global eCommerce distribution, the book’s metadata is shared across all international retail partners. It usually takes 6 to 8 weeks for the book to appear on major global online stores. During this period, you may notice temporary inconsistencies—such as missing cover images, incorrect information, or the listing appearing and disappearing. This is a normal part of the global distribution cycle, and the listing stabilizes once all retailers complete their update process.

Please note that while Samant Publishing submits the metadata promptly, the speed and accuracy of updates on each retailer’s website depend entirely on their internal systems and timelines.

Authors only need to pay the cost of author copies along with applicable shipping charges. Once the payment is received, we will proceed with printing and deliver the author copies to the address provided by the author.

Please note, the minimum order quantity is 10 author copies to avail the special author pricing. Orders below this quantity will not qualify for the author copy rate. The printing and shipping process typically takes 15–25 days.
